Annoying ship designing bug

Shipyard and designs

I'm playing a custom race, and during the first turn I'm designing a few ships such as a scout ship, with a specific layout.

If I go to use one of the Templates, such as the Fighter Template 1 (Yor ships), and then select to "use" it, it strips off all the "fluff" components in the top list that displays what components have been selected for the ship, but it doesn't visually remove the components on the display of the rotating ship.
If I then outfit this ship with engines and what not, save it and then go to the shipyard, I'll see the ship without all the fluff components on it.
If I then delete that ship, and design a new without using templates, and at the end name it the same as the previous ship, my new ship will end up looking like the first one.

Bottom line is, the Templates just doesn't work for me. Neither in beta 1 or 2.

I tried deleting the files in My Documents\My Games\GC2DarkAvatar, but still upon saving the ship it completely removes all the "fluff" components.

Though deleting the custom race file I had, and making a new one from scratch changed the Race Abilities, where as prior to deleting the race file I would get + a lot of different abilities, without having selected them. Now only the abilities I've picked shows, plus the +6% logistics ability.

The way race abilities are handled was changed--those in the raceconfig are permanent and stack with whatever you pick, and none of them take up any points. Custom races don't have anything there but logistics by default (since it's not selectable), but they get more points to spend than the core races do.

There is a known bug where certain templates (like Fighter 1, Attacker 1, 2, 3 - Basically the ones that have numbers in them) will lose their jewelry and some parts when saved.  Other templates (like Solar Fox) should be fine, also any user-created templates.

The problem has been fixed, but unfortunately, the fix did not make it into beta 2.

Good going CodeCritter!

I just posted an bug email to you guys about this one. Glad to hear it has been fixed, could we get a small hotfix before next major Beta release?

Sometimes when you save over an old ship design, the new ship you spent hours building looks like the old one!. I discovered that ending turn brings up the new ship properly
