running tasks icon question

Running latest 1.5 free version.

Re: Running tasks.

I'd liked to change the default icons for running tasks that improbably paste up LaSt icons for folders, Crystal icons for configuration, etc. Why these icons and how can I change them? Are they permanently associated with the task?

Thanks,

Bedwyr

Right click | Dock Entry Properties
Choose either "Change/Remove Image" or "Set Image"
Browse to the icon you want

Ah. Thanks. I suppose, then, that the OD configuration icon insists on using its own icon though (unchangeable... that's why I assumed they were all unchangeable).

Follow-up from my other comments on the Wincustomize forum you kindly answered. You say Start Menu support actually is integrated... yet I'm searching and searching through the program and *still* can't find a reference for where I can activate this.

Yes I did find the new feature list that says it's available, but no help file or reference to tell me where to find how to activate this. I could go right back to Verhoeven's startmenu docklet, but I kind of consider that half, erm, baked.

Thanks,
Bedwyr

Me too.

Start Menu:

Not on the free, only on the plus version

I beg your pardon Bichur.

Re: configuration.

Click on configure dock. Right click the configure dock icon in the running tasks bar. No properties window will appear. I erroneously used this to assume it was impossible to change icons for running task icons.

Re: start menu.

WWW Link

Check the feature list for the free version. I'll be rather put out after having wasted a good hour having looked for the feature as it is listed.

Maybe it's hidden.

I've been running the free for 3 yrs, never seen it. Been using a vbs to pull up the start panel - hadn't even checked the new features list yet

I'm at work now, don't have one here (and it's not allowed) - I'll look again tonight (now I'm really curious) - if you right click and just add a new shortcut, is there maybe a drop down in one of the options in the box that pops up to configure the shortcut? It does it that way with DesktopX.

I believe it's supposed to be new as of 1.5. I was grousing earlier about using a docklet to replicate the behavior and didn't know about the alleged feature till Zubaz pointed it out. I'd much rather have OD handle it than a 3rd party.

Yes, it does do this in a half-baked way the way you point it out. Add a shortcut, set the link to programs menu, set it to open *in* a menu. But that's not the same as full Start Menu support as they advertise.

Also, here's a pic of the icon I was trying to change, but can't:

I can't see your pic

Not your fault

I have a very restrictive employer

I'll look after I go home.

Well I'm kind of non-plussed. The ad-copy says it supports a feature and it doesn't.  They should change the ad.

They should change the ad.

ummmm... I rather vote for truth in advertising and give me the feature.

If you start adding the list it's kinda there.
