I ran across this on YouTube last night, and thought it would be worth sharing.

This is a series of interviews from various soldiers in Iraq, discussing the myths and facts concerning recruiting, combat/war/killing, honor, propaganda, health benefits, war crimes, and other political views; produced by IndymediaPresents.

Sadly, I do not pay much attention to the war in Iraq, because honestly, I can't see how it effects my life in America one way or the other. I thought the following production to be a the least, interesting.

Sadly, I do not pay much attention to the war in Iraq, because honestly, I can't see how it effects my life in America one way or the other.


'sadly'--if the rest of the statement is an accurate expression (and i've no reason to believe otherwise)--may just be this year's most outrageous understatement. i'm not sure extreme apathy can be properly considered tragic; if not, it's so damn close as to be nearly indistinguisable.

if nothing else, you're paying for it--both directly and indirectly. your children, should you have any, will be paying for it after you're gone.

what happened on 9/11 and what happens today in baghdad can be directly attributed to citizens of britain, france, germany and italy (among others) who were of like mind back in the first couple decades of the 20th century thus enabling their governments to boobytrap what was then the future but is now our present.

I hear what your saying, but what I mean, is my quality of life has not changed that I can notice. I still earn the same money, and I can't notice anything costing me any more or less; with the exception of fuel.
