Running Programs On Dock?

I've only used OD Plus for about 24 hours, so I'm still a little confused. I want to be able to permanently hide the taskbar, but I can't figure out how go get running apps that have been miniaturized to show up in a dock. The way it is now, the program 'disappears' and I have to unhide the task bar to get at it.

Can someone please help? Thanks.

Create a new Normal dock. That's one way

If using a tabbed dock, Create a new taskbar tab. (Right click on an existing tab, choose "Add Entry", "Add new tab", "Add taskbar tab")
