My Holiday

I visited a family of friends that I will likely not see for at least a year, and possibly several. We had a very nice Thanksgiving dinner, and the I visited them for a few days, Thursday through Saturday.

I helped my friend haul lumber and cement mix, a rented two-man auger, and a wheelbarrow from various stores to his home. We dug all the post holes and set in a handful of the uprights for the fence he is building. Physical labor is rewarding to me, especially when there is visible evidence of the work having been done.

I visited another friend for dinner on Saturday and she showed me around her new home. Dinner with a young, attractive woman isn't something I've been coming by a lot lately, so even though she's "just" my friend it was a pleasant change. And it doesn't matter that she's "just" my friend. The fact that she is my friend was important enough. We had a long, mostly pleasant conversation (we were always pleasant but some of the topics weren't) and I drove the three hours home.

Sounds like you worked for your dinner

I'm glad that you enjoyed your holiday.  Maybe one year we'll live close enough together that you can come and experience Thanksgiving (or any other holiday) at Dharma's house.

Oh, sure, but I was happy to do it. Justin's like a brother to me, and that's actually the explanation we provided to the neighbor kids when they asked. "Is he your brother?" "Yeah, something like that."

That'd be awesome, yeah! I'm already spoken for this Christmas, though. Mom and Dad just called, actually.

Very nice recap of your weekend, Pseudo. (See? I am still lurking though not actually posting...) Say hi to Justin for me when you see him again. I sure miss hanging around with the boyz in Fort Hood. Anyway, have a great Monday and hope to hear from you soon. Drop me a line.

I don't work with my hands enough.

On, like, fences and stuff. That other stuff I'm doing too much.
