GUI Champs: Best Overall Visual Style Winners!

The winners of the final event of the GUI Championships have been announced. The finalists in the
Overall Best Visual Style category were all great submissions, and I'm sure it was a tough decision for the judges.  The prizes for the Best Overall Visual Style competition includes an Xbox 360, over $375 in cash, and software bundles.

Congratulations goes to JJ Ying taking the gold for his Azenis 2 Visual Style.  He will be taking home an Xbox 360 for his efforts.

Usually I would say congrats and be all happy but not this time. I agreed with the icon and wallpaper voting but the VS voting seems way off. Gold and silver went to two very well known artists...wonder why??

I agree that some of the other VS categories seemed a bit weird, but I do think that these 3 skins were top notch and I can't disagree with these results. BTW, I showed the skins to some friends who use WB, but don't know anything about the skinners and these were 3 that we all liked a lot. It doesn't matter who does the skin but how well they do it. The top two are well known because of the quality of work they do. I don't care who Danilo0c is, I just know he's my favorite skinner and JJ turns out some fantastic work. While I didn't like the yellow parts of Vectra and the start button, that skin was very well done. VStyler showed some great stuff with how he pulled off such a unique and usable skin. I stared at that skin for a long time on how cool it was. Kudos to all the winners. They deserve it.

Maybe because they deserved it? It has nothing to do with who the skinners are...its the end product thats says it all!

Hats off to everyone that participated...you all had some tough competition...but everyone came through with some great stuff!

anyway, it was a great contest, the results seem fair to me, community dues being paid is always going to count for something and i personally have no problem with that.

Congrats to all the winners in all the categories, and to the big winner, the community !

Im off to have a celebratory egg nog and whiskey !

Not known to the judges, however. Known to US, but that was one of the reasons we had outside judges.

I don't know. I have never been a fan of dark skins. I'd have to say this list is way opposite of what I would of chosen.

I'm sure it was difficult for the Judges to select just 3 or 4

All 3 winners are outstanding work regardless of individual taste.

Congratulations to ALL who participated!! I tried out each and every WBA and have kept almost every one in my library.
