My new ships dosen t work

I ve edited the gc2types.xml as follow. Sorry I posted the hole edited part. My problem is: My own Ships (No new models, only old models with new attributes, some models are used for 2 hulles) But these new ships dosen t apper in the Game and the "small" hulles are also disappered in game. Whats wrong? please anser.

The small hulls are likely all missing because you gave them all Xeno Industrial Theory as a prerequisite. Normally only one has that, while the other two are available from the start of the game.

As to the rest, I'm not sure what problem you could be having; it appears that everything is there that needs to be. You say that they don't show up in the game, but since you're replacing the original models, that yould imply that no hulls appear at all in the game? If they work, the hulls will be the same as before just with new stats, since you're using the same internal name as the base hulls.

FYI, you can make the forum properly display < in your text by replacing them all with < (just changing those will cause it to leave the >'s alone as well).

there is the one thing that the ship yard screen only shows six hulls at the top but the extra hulls do show up on the side if that makes sense to you

ok, it was my fault. I copyed my new ships without delet the "tech requiered flag". These ships are working now. But here`s my next problem:

I ve added the model and these code to gc2type:

(Hull Name="Basis")
(DisplayName)Basis(/DisplayName)
(Description)Basis gigantic Carrier Ship(/Description)
(Cost)1500(/Cost)
(Size)900(/Size)
(SensorRange)4(/SensorRange)
(HP)400(/HP)
(Model)Basis(/Model)
(Speed)1(/Speed)
(Category)Carrier(/Category)
(Logistics)1(/Logistics)
(/Hull)

But it dosen´t work. And why the weapons getting bigger in big ships? How can i stop that? I can understood that drives bigger in big shipps, because there´s more mass but why are the weapons bigger wthout dealing more damage?

Thank you

Do you have a model in the Gfx/Models folder named S99_Basis.x (the 99 can be a different number, but you must have that or a copy of it named the approrpiate number for each race it will be available to--ex: S0_Basis, S1_Basis, etc)? If the model is not present, the hull will not appear in the game.

Most ship componenets have a SizeMod which increases the base size by a % of the hull's capacity, more for balancing purposes than for reality. If you want to get rid of them you can just go remove all the SizeMod tags in GC2Types.xml, but be warned it will dramatically change the balance of the game.

I made copys of the Basis.x and named them S0_Basis.x ... S5_Basis.x I also copyed and renamed the texturs. but it still dosen t work. These files are in ...GFX/models. It is a model from pery Rhodan mod (http://library.galciv2.com/index.aspx?m=68) I m using GC2 version 1.0

I doubt it's the cause of your problems, but you should definitely update to the latest patch. At the very least, that will allow you to mod the game without having to alter the core data files.

I ve updated to 1.40x but it still don ´t work. Edited the data/English/GC2types.xml, because the patch uses only the localiced parts of the data/german/gc2types.xml . Am I right? My new sgips with standart hulls appear, the ones with eddited attributes DOES work, only the one with a new hull does not appear in the Ship-building-center.

I also copyed and renamed the texturs. but it still dosen t work.

You should not rename the texture files, only the .x model file.

Try changing the Category back to 'Huge' and see if that makes a difference.

If you want less effect from the SizeMod, lower the size of the ship to more reasonable levels and get all the miniaturization techs. SizeMod is based on the base hull size, so the min techs add space without an increase in component size.

Ok, I think this model is broken. I can use it as a strucktur, but with wrong/no texturs. Thank you all for help!
