Ram Meter widgets (any/all) always register "0"

Please Help!  I've downloaded a number of Memory/Ram meters and they always register "0" (0%).  Any ideas?

Buy more ram?

How about a link to one of the meters you have tried?

3Gig Ram....should be plenty don't you think?

Here's a link to "Rewind System Info":

https://www.wincustomize.com/ViewSkin.aspx?SID=1&SkinID=732&LibID=34

and "GT3 CPU Monitor":

https://www.wincustomize.com/ViewSkin.aspx?SID=1&SkinID=229&LibID=34

Both of these (and all the others) display "0" for Ram usage all the time....

Thanks for your help....

When's the last time you cleared your DestopX cache? If its been awhile you need to start there.

Okay....did as you instructed and cleared DesktopX cache. Problem still exists. I just installed this software within the last 10 days.....none of the memory meters have ever worked. Even the "Silica Memory Meter" that came installed with the DestopX Widgets has never worked. This meter always reads 39% (all others register "0") regardless of what programs are running. Any other suggestions?

I have tested the two meters you posted. Both work. It appears to be a local problem.

Have you tried any other meter types, such as Hard Drive space or CPU use? The Windows Scripting Host can become corrupt, as can the WMI. But the symptoms could also be due to a bad DesktopX install that didn't get the plug-ins straight somehow.

Do any of the Blister Pack DX meters work properly?

Have you tried running any of the DesktopX themes by gef? His include system stats objects. It would be interesting to know if they work.

How about SysMetrix does that work? I know its a different program, but it includes meters. What does the windows task manager show? Does it show the widgets running? How about the system performance area on task manager what does it show?

I am having the same problem just with RAM widgets. I cannot for the life of me figure it out. Everything was fine until I changed anti-malware programs to my ISP's Bellsouth Premium Internet Security. When I installed the suite it changed a whole bunch of my system settings and I have noticed many things different about my computer. I can not also play shockwave files in my browser, I need to download them to my computer and play them off my hard-disk. I have a feeling all of this including the widget problem is caused by changes that were made on my computer. I have tried a few memory widgets and they all don't work. My favorite is the Digital Clear Monitor, all other functions of the widget work except for the memory portion. Please if anyone has any suggestions I'd appreciate it.

clearing the widget cache and reloading the widget always fixes a non working widget for me,but if your having issues with just ram meters I would contact stardock support.

ok sorry to have revived this old thread, but I'm also having the same issue. I just installed some RAM on my laptop and it's also over 3 gigabytes and all of my RAM meters are at Zero. Did anyone ever find anything about this? thanks

Right, everything over 2 GB lets the memeory meter fail.
