Just need a shove in the right direction...

I need to know where to start

I have been a member of this site only a few hours, but have been using the freeware provided to customize my GUI for about a year on and off. Now that I have been using other people's work to create themes of my own, I feel it's my turn to show the world what I'm made of.

All I need to know, is if I purchace Object Desktop, Will I be provided with the software to make EVERYTHING? Icons, windowblinds, wallpapers, windows media skins, logons, boot screens, screen savers, right click skins, object docks...you get the picture...I wanna make suites that have EVERYTHING with them... but as far as I know...well...I dont really know anything at this point...

I have a few programs already that I have noticed being mensioned around here

- Adobe Photoshop 7
- IrFanview
- 3DS Max 7

And I have some others too. various modeling programs I use for work (I work with computer gaming and game design. specifically modeling and level design. Thats why I wanna make skins)

So if someone could kindly give me the lowdown on what I would need to create all the parts to a "full suite" I would be very greatfull.

Thank you,

Well to "create" the graphics you will need things like Photoshop, or any comparible graphics program.  ObjectDesktop includes programs such as Iconpackager and Icondeveloper which will help you develop icons, and iconpacker themes.

It also includes Skinstudio which is used to create Windowblind skins.

There are many more programs included, so click the link below and it will show you what programs come with OD, and what they can do.

You don't need anything other than a grpahics editor to make wallpapers, and you have that.

Object Desktop includes all these programs LINK

ObjectDockPlus is not part of Object Desktop.

BootSkin, and LogonStudio are free programs.

Stardock doesn't have a ScreenSaver creation program, you'll have to get that elsewhere. (I would check out the Axialis website)

Did I miss anything?

ObjectDock Plus is a separate purchase from Object Desktop and so is CursorXP Plus. Some of the more experienced people here can go over any additional software tools they use. It sound like with the purchase of Object Desktop and getting the DesktopX Pro version (to make widgets) you'll be all set since you already have the other main software that's needed, graphic arts software.

the DesktopX Pro version (to make widgets)

You don't need the pro version to make Widgets, you can do that with the Standard version. Pro is for Gadgets.

WB progress animations will require an external program as well, something like GIF Movie Gear.
