avedesk/visual styles vs. window blinds which is best/preferred?

it seems like theres lots of nice premade skins for windowblinds, but it seems like all the pretty completely customize desktops on deviantart, the artists use avedesk.

im not sure which to use ..

There's no reason you can't use WindowBlinds and AveDesk, is there?

I used to use AveDesk all the time with WB. It's a really nice app but all I use anymore is 1 dock and RightClick. Simple and clean and I can get to any program I need very quick. But AveDesk will work with whatever you want no problem.

I use Avedesk and Windowblinds. Really it's like comparing apples and oranges, they both do different things. Windowblinds skins the taskbar, windows, buttons, etc. Avedesk has a wide array of features, including desklets (most commonly the icon desklets) as well as being able to have a media player (Avetunes) and weather docklets and a wide assortment of other things with the sysstats addon.

But I would definitely recommend using Windowblinds over visual styles.

I tried Avedesk a few times, but always ended up going back to DesktopX and IconX.  Avedesk was a "hit" on the OSX skinnning forums because it would add labels to your icons like OSX can.

But now IconX can do that also, and more easily.
