NEW Compaq Presario Laptop On sale At Walmart $398

I woke up this morning, went out to get my mail, and notice the front page ad of the Walmart flyer:

Starting November 5th you can buy a brand new Compaq Presario (V5305WM) for the amazingly low price of $398.

Here are the specs of the HP homepage:

I'm thinking to replace my PII 300 with one of these guys :)

Thanks Gideon, but I'm pretty handy with PCs...Got my MCSE in Win2K a few years back. Haven't found anything I couldnt fix yet

I just don't think this deal can be beat.

LOL...I know...you've been a great help for me on issues. I was just thinking, if it's gonna screw up, at least you'll get the replacement parts without much hassle with the Dell.

You're right, though...the Compaq IS a good deal. They'll jack the price up for our local store though, just like they did with last year's "blitz day" computers (day after Thanksgiving), so us folks in rural TX will probably have to pay $80 more...add to that the fact that they're eliminating layaway.

Sorry...WalMart rant...I'll return you to your regularly scheduled thread.

I like Linux, but I'm no where near as proficient with it as I am with Windows.

I dual boot WinXP with SuSE Linux 10.1. One of the biggest pita with Linux for me, was the grueling experience of installing the ATI drivers.

I wonder how many people will be banging down the doors at Walmart tomorrow?

I wonder how many people will get hurt?
