Why do I need to download StarDoc Central?

When I registered here, I was prompted to download Stardock Central to complete my registration, which I did. But why did I have to download it, what is it for, what does it do? Thanks for the help on what seems like an uber-noob question.

Stardock Central is an easier, more effective way to download and install the Stardock applications. You can also use it to archive your installed programs and themes in case you ever have to start over.

Stardock Central [SDC] is a browser/downloader for Stardock & WinCustomize.

Using it, you are able to download & install many of the programs available from Stardock, and trial them.

If you wish to purchase any of the software after you try it, SDC will/should be the application you'll use to download the full versions.

When you purchse something from Stardock, you'll be sent a serial # via email which you then enter via SDC to register your purchased application [such as WindowBlinds].

It also serves as a web browser, in that you can use it so search for new skins on Wincustomize, directly through the browser itself.

It's [in my opinion] a very stable and integral part of your whole customizing experience.

...take a look at all its various functions, and you'll see soon enough that it was worth the download.
