The WB files match with the Trial Version. How long have you had it?

Whats the amount of times I have posted or my User Level have to do with anything?

Nothing specific, but:

Most people here with a number lower than mine either show as a past or current customer when posting info that says paid version - "appears to be activated".

It only took me less than 5 minutes on dialup to find several posts with your WB info and replies suggesting you uninstall and reinstall via SDC since your files are mixed.

And some people consider 3yrs as a visitor to be more than enough time to show support and either be a subscriber or customer

but in any case: uninstall and reinstall via SDC since your files are mixed. See if that helps.

I have kind of similar problem but I just bought Object Desktop Network 2007 about a week and half to two weeks ago. I have everything available to download that I purchased downloaded and installed but when I got just WindowBlinds 5.1 and Iconpackager and wallpaper any of them and I reboot and the skin in windowblinds does not show and hangs and I have to do multiple shutdowns and startups just to get windows to load. I already sent a ticket to the support on this of hanging and not loading all the way into windows. I thought it would be windowFX that cauase it but this last time reinstalling everything except windowFX, it would still give the problem. I used to before I just used WB and Iconpackager and wallpaper. I was running desktopx, iconpackager, windowFX, windowblinds, widgets and I had problems but now it is just basic stuff on it (windowblinds, iconpackager, wallpaper), and still has problems with boots. Anyone have any suggestions?

It would help if you could post your System Information from the WindowBlinds Configuration screen here to see if the proper files were installed on your system.

I uninstalled windowFX because in stardock central said the version I could only get was beta. I think that is what caused it.

n stardock central said the version I could only get was beta

only if you check 'show pre release' down at the bottom = that gets you the betas
uncheck it to get the latest released version

It was not only the WindowFX and yes I had that checked for show pre-release. I went and uninstalled everything again. I used the zapper and now reinstalling without showing the pre-released versions. Hope it works better. Cross your fingers.

once you get the released versions installed, you might consider checking 'auto archive' if you want to try the betas - then if the beta doesn't work for you, you can just restore the archive.

Well it works very nice now. I installed a few of the suites from wincustomize and reboot my laptop and walked away. When I came back it was loaded all the way up in Windows XP. So I am happy now. I also realized before with other installs that I did, I did not reboot the computer when it ask for windowblinds and 2 other softwares. I did it this time and I think that helped it too. I really like the spiderman theme I got off of wincustomize.  for me!

Well back with the same problem Bichur. It stopped working after 3 hours of use. Stupid me rebooted again to see if it would work. I could not even load into windows at all. I had to go back into safe mode and uninstall everything again. I currently have nothing of stardock on this laptop. I have had too much problems to put it back on. I am going to wait for my ticket to go through the technical support and see what they say. I never had this much trouble with a product with anything. This is my worst experience. I hope someone that has similar problems does not have it this bad. Thanks for trying.

Rid your PC of all DX componants and reboot.

Set up SDC and run it.

Do NOT download and install a bunch of apps at once without rebooting inbetween.

Load WindowBlinds, and reboot when the option comes. Find yourself a skin you want, set it all up and reboot.

If all goes well, move on the the next DX componant; reboot; configure; reboot. If you have no issues, move on from there.

Hope that helps

I will try that thanks. I also read on frequently asked questions about Object Desktop Network on stardock.com and they say that this software is for people that want to use beta and they don't expect it to work perfectly. So why is it the same price as a cd, when it does not work the same?
I have been using Object Desktop components for a very long time, and have never suffered under beta releases.

IMHO, these betas are well tested and work perfectly. Since many of the OD are continuously under development, they remain in the beta stage.

You have the option to either use or not the beta releases. We are all made aware of the situation, before we put out our $40. I personally have NEVER received such a suite of competent and more usefull software than OD for $40.

Stardock lacks some in the way of documentation, but seems to be getting a lot better recently. You really need to use your head when performing these installations, and read whatever Stardock offers before installing.

Always reboot when installing/upgrading an app that changes the system configuration BEFORE doing another. I'm not saying this will resolve your issue, but its a darn good habit to get into, as it will save you many hors of headaches later on.

What Xythe said.

I've been running the full ODNT package since 06/2003 (just not a laptop).

You gotta remember, there is a difference between making software that works within Windows environment and software thats kinda changes Windows environment & has to try a deal with other softwares and such installed.

One at a time, test them out - if working = on to the next.

Hit a problem, stop and post it.

I just hit a problem with windowblinds 5.1. Lightblue II would not load. I got Fresco loaded. I also had to reboot 3 times before windowblinds would even work.

When I finally get components installed, should I use theme manager in Object Desktop or the one in the all programs list because the are both different? The one in the all programs, object desktop, theme manager 2007 has all the other stuff listed on the side. The one with Object Desktop Launcher has just suites to install.

theme manager 2007

Theme manager works for applying suites *check the suites gallery* which can include a dtx theme, wb, iconpackager, cursorxp, etc (any combo)

Object Desktop Launcher
.
launches object desktop themes

I have everything installed and did restart after each component and works fine running them. I had bootskin, logonstudio, cursorxp, when I installed before with the problem I was having. Could that be one of them that caused it?
