BSOD

Hi all,
Installed Bootskin, picked a skin, rebooted, and got the BSOD.
Is there a conflict with this program? Any suggestions are welcome.

due to different BIOS, Bootskin may not work for everybody - there's 3 different versions at the Bootskin Site. if one doesn't work, try another.

Remember to go into Safe Mode to restore the boot screen.

I occasionally get a BSOD. I restart again and it loads fine.

I did go into safe mode to restore boot screen. And there are 2 other versions of bootskin? Where may I find them? I have v.1.0

interesting -

which v 1.0?

now I can only find 1.05a and even though it was unsupported last time I checked, the date added to download.com is 02/02/2006

the bootskin page used to have 3

i haven't tried it in over a year......

File description on folder says v1.0.0. Read a post on another site that says it screws up the Windows kernel, hence the BSOD.

Don't think it's the kernel (Stardock is an MS Gold Partner) - it's the BIOS

There are other types of 'bootskin' apps out there that hack the kernel
