WindowBlinds only skins the GUI of Windows, and will apply a wallpaper only if it's supplied as part of the download.

Icons and cursors are a seperate download, and need the relevant programs installed on your computer for them to be able to be applied.

In each library that you download skins from, at the top of the library page you'll find a link to the program needed.

You could take a look HERE to get a better idea.

You might want to update WB while you're at it.......don't know where you got that one, but I hope you're running a 64bit system.

Download and install: WWW Link Input serial number and install latest WB version using SDC

So..... Let me see if my feeble little brain comprehends all this. If I get Object Desktop, all my worries will be over.....When I download a skin and apply it....ALL the goodies will be there? correct???

No.

To apply a cursor theme, you need a program called CursorXP. This will allow you to skin your cursor. There is a free or purchased version.

The only time WindowBlinds will apply a wallpaper is if the Author of the skin inlcudes one in the WindowBlind file. Most of the time the wallpapers included will be zipped. This will not apply the wall with the windowblind unless you extract the files and set it to through WB config. Other times, the author will link to the wallpaper as a seperate download.

The only other program you may be interested in that isn't included with ObjectDesktop is ObjectDock Plus. This is also a free or purchased version.

Other than that ObjectDesktop is the way to go. I highly recommend an ODNT purchase, you can't beat it.

Afterwards, you might want to check out BootSkin, and LogonStudio. Both are Freeware programs.

Everything in this list comes with the Object Desktop package.

And having already paid a purchase of one of the components entitles you to purchase Object Desktop at a discount. {$34.95 instead of $49.95}

Ok,

Is there a version of the Object Desktop package that comes complete for free or is the free one a time limited thing?

No.

Some of the Object Desktop components have time limited trials.

If you followed my link in my original response, you would have seen that each [or many] of the programs have a 'trial' version.

Some of these are 'limited' versions, but you'll get the general idea of what they do, and by using them for a while you should be able to decide whether you want the full suite of Stardock apps.

or is the free one a time limited thing?

Yes.
