Help With JU Standard Protocols

I'm sorry to post this here, but if somebody could please tell me where the support area is, I'd be very grateful. Please note that I somehow have lost the option to add/delete/modify the custome links on my blog. Is this a permission thing? Or an anomaly? Also, I could use some help with the JU standard protocol when blogging.

it happens to me sometimes. closing the browser and clearing the cache generally fixes it. The same will fix it when you lost the edit button on your blog articles.

If what Baker says does not fix it, dump the cookies as well.

Ok Thanks guys. Ill try the cache, but this PC is to well establishes to dump every cookie for the sake of 1 button on a BlogBrowser.

Perhaps I can be told exactlally what cookies JU uses

I'm inclined to beleive it's an anomaly from within BlogNav. As you can see, the issue only surfaces when using BlogNav Pro, but not when using Internet Explorer.

This happens to me all the time.

Just hit edit when the dot is on select site theme and then it should come back and give you the other option.

Good luck.

On the Cookies, try exporting them, dumping them, and then testing.  If that fixes it, you can re-import the cookies and then use Karen Power Tools to selectively delete the JU cookies.  Cookies are really just little text documents.  And exporting and saving them, if they are indeed critical, is a good idea.

I was thinking similarly Doc. My question using this technique is what cookies does JU put on our PCs?

Thanks Tova, but believe it or not, the "edit" button disappers as well

I'm finding that I am at a loss of how to diagnose or deal with issues I stumble upon while using JU. Somebody please tell me where any relevent support info resides. Ive always had a tough time with Stardock documentation for as far as I can see, very little exists. If this is the case, is it ok to post support questions on my blog where the entire community can comment? Or will this be viewed as some sort of spamming?

I have seen the "flame" thing where various users elude to certain documents that govern the JU community. Where are these documents located. I would really like to read them, as I have never used a blog before, and I'm certain I have violated some standards. I really dont want that "flaming" thing to happen to me, and I don't want to be looked at like a dope for violating standards I am unaware of.

Thanks so much guys

They all have Joeuser (or wincustomize, or Stardock, etc) in the string.

As for the documents, check the bottom of the page. Small print. There are some links there.

Thanks again Doc, Ill go through the cookies and have a look for at least those I can find. Its not uncommon for administrators to let us know what cookies they place on our PCs. I imagine Stardock may tell us someplace on one of their sights; maybe not.

Pretty fruitless and I cant see any of those links having much in the way of value.

"The Scoring System" - Completely out of date and has not been maintained for about a couple of years. As I look now, I believe its been deleted. Maybe its being updated?

"Links" - Page cannot be found.
"More Stats" - Joe Says, "I'm sorry, this page is still under development. Please try again later." Ive been looking for about a month; no change.

"Join the mailing list" - Brings you to the JU home page.

As you can see, those links at the bottom are basically useless.

Perhaps I'll make an article asking what the standard protocol is for writing on a blog here at JU. I worry that I might get flamed though. Its been a bit warm around here lately.

I'm going to risk it and "bump" this one a couple of times. Once now and once later tonight.

Sorry about the tiny text. It's a result of using the EDIT feature, and I do not know how to fix it.

Xythe - place a new thread up entitled Admin help please - this might get their attention. I have found the admin here to be very good.

Then copy and paste all the info across, pretty soon one of them will assist you.

Stop worrying about being flamed. Do not let things like that stop you doing things on JU.

Things do get hot around here at times between some parties. Do not let it upset you or affect you to the point you are afraid to post anything, that way the bullies win.

All these words - things, things, things - bad english!

I hope you get sorted

My suggestion would be to just use a browser, frankly.

You just gotta muddle through the best you can in many cases.

I kind of figured that when no admin addressed this thread. Thanks LW.
