Google plans to build a solar-powered electricity system at it's Silicon Valley headquarters. When finished it will be the largest U.S. corporate complex powered by solar energy.

Yay google... they maybe an evil giant, but they're an evil giant that I for one welcome.

The US (as well as the world) needs to find a serious commitment to solar power. People wine about cloudy days, etc... the fact is you don't have to drop off the grid if you go solar. Days you have a shortage of power, you pull from the grid. Days when you have more sun than energy needs you sell back to the grid.

All new construction over 2500 sq. ft should be required to have a percentage of its sq ft. in solar panels. People might say they can't afford it, well tough titty, build under 2500 sq ft., we need to get serious about energy savings in this world, and that means sacrifice.

Good for google.
