BabyGirl's first home movie :)

Here is what I considered to be the highlight of our baby girl's sonogram over the weekend. She smiled a little bit :)

Here's the smile:

So we spent Saturday in Minneapolis to get a 4D sonogram of our little baby-to-be.

It's a girl! The technician made it graphically clear on the DVD no less than four times. I left that part out of the above clip. You don't need to see that.

The technician joked that she's not a very ladylike girl. You know that pose that ice skaters do with their leg way over their head? Well my baby can do that naked.

When we watched it I laughed and then decided we'd only distribute copies to her grandparents (as opposed to the whole family). We wouldn't want to embarrass the little girl even before she's born.

Although her hand was in front of her face, we were still able to see some facial features. We tried and tried to get her to move, and she eventually moved her arm a little bit. The technician kept trying to "see through" the hand to get a clear view of the face...which ended up looking like an indistinguishable mass of flesh in front of her face. Not pretty, but I wasn't any less grateful for the technology. It was pretty neat to take a peek at our little girl in her environment. Fascinating really.

And gosh I feel so much better knowing for sure she's a girl. Now I know for a fact that we'll need to shop. Earlier I joked that we'd just have to dress her in my boy's old clothes, but now that I see the reality of it, I couldn't bear to do that to her. Rest assured that she will be decked in pink, pink pink, whatever it takes. I'm starting to frequent SwapThing.com. It's a neat site.

Another highlight of our one-day trip to Minnesota was the Mall of America. Wow. We spent time there before and after the appointment. That mall is pretty amazing. We got our fill of the mall. I'm over it now. But it's a definite must-see for anyone who likes points-of-interest.

Now what should we name our little girl...hmmmm...I've got a million ideas but still waiting for one of the names to feel right.

Alyssa
April
Alexxa
Alexa
Alison
Allison

I don't know, but I seem to like the letter 'A.'

Holy cats, EVERYONE's having a girl!  First Jill had Ashley, then Tex found out she was having Isabella, now you've found out that your wee one is a girl too!

I had a beanie and bootees made in yellow and green.  I'm not going to send those now; I'm going to make another one in girly colors like peach and pink and perhaps even purple too.

Oh, and just so you know, the knitting doesn't start and end with a beanie and bootees.  I have a TON of patterns for babies that I'm dying to make, and your little girl will definitely be on the receiving end of some of them!

You know what Trudy, I thought about you a whole bunch while we were there! I was even going to include that in the blog, but it didn't come out. I thought, "Wouldn't it be surreal if we ran into each other?" I think I'd recognize you, from a photo you posted recently about "Which Celebrity do you Look Like?". Yes that would have been neat.

I even pictured it, depending on what mood you caught me in, I would have either been speechless & distant (you know, caught off guard and surprised), or emotional and give you a great big hug! Silly, I know.

Holy cats, EVERYONE's having a girl!

One more for our team?  That's great!  Hahahahaha

Sounds like the trip and all it entailed was worth every penny.  So what do I know?

HAHAHAHAHA

The mall of America is nice isn't it?  I remember the first time I went, I wondered what all the fuss about having a roller coaster inside was...hahaha.  Do they still have that?  Did you ride it?

Glad to hear your baby girl is healthy Angela.  You could always name her Alegna.  Or Angel.

That's wonderful! Congrats on finding out and finally doing it! I"m glad everything went well for you both.

You guys had a fun trip and that was important too.

Oh I was telling Tex how much fun it is to shop for girls. Now you'll see what I mean! I'll be in touch about that.

I'm favoring 'A"s myself, my two last are Adam and Amanda.

Any of those names you have there sounds good to me! keep well!

I'm sure it feels good to know for sure what you're having. Have fun shopping!

PS - Old Navy has some adorable stuff for really cheap right now!

Whatever "A" name you choose, I am sure it will fit her beautifully.

3 of my 5 nieces have A names, btw (Alexis, Alexandra, and Alina).

I'm glad you were able to get some nice pics/video after traveling all that way. I went to a german ob for a 4D ultrasound, but there wasn't enough fluid around her face to get a good picture. She mainly looked like flesh blob. We were able to see her little girly parts with the 2D u/s though, and that's all we really needed. I love the smile video, so cute! You'll have to send lots of pics when she's born. I like April best for the name, by the way. I also like Avery.
