So, what about this Foley guy?

It's pretty sick.

Foley, 52, a six-term Florida Republican, resigned after ABC News reported he sent messages containing references to sexual organs and acts to current and former congressional pages.

House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi said House Republican leaders should be questioned under oath on how much they knew of Foley's e-mails to male pages, the teenagers who answer telephones, deliver documents and run other errands for members of Congress....

...Foley was chairman of the House caucus on missing and exploited children, and the author of the key sexual predator provisions of the Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act of 2006, which President George W. Bush signed in July.

Well, that's pretty F'ed up right there...I'm not exactly sure how to comment...it's sick. On top of advocating laws to punish pedophiles...can someone say hypocrisy? Well, that's our government for ya...what's this, like the 20th time a Republican has gotten caught screwing up this year? Although, I think this one is the worst by far. *sigh*...A lot of people suck.

Now he's entering alchohol rehab so I guess we're supposed to be impressed that "he's getting help". What sickens me is that the Republican house leadership knew about his a year ago but nothing happened until it was coming out in the news.

This is sick and is another example of how the GOP leadership is failing our country. WHY did Hastert and the other GOP leaders did not look into this issue when they were told about it? Why did ONLY the two GOP members on the three member Page Oversight Sub-committee know if these E-Mails? Why was the Democrat on this oversight committee not informed about the E-Mails?

Foley needs to be dealt with by the law and the GOP leadership should ALL lose their seats in Congress for failing to meet their responsibilities as first members of Congress as well as the Leaders of the Congress!

Voters can not allow the current GOP leadership to continue to fail our country! I wonder how long it will take the conservatives to blame this on Clinton?

Yep, this is sick stuff alright, and Foley deserves to get run out on a rail... which is exactly what's happeneing.

What I wonder though, is why Rep. Barney Frank was DEFENDED by House Democrats when he had his little scandal back in the 90s.

Once again, when a republican is  caught at it, he's run out, but when a democrat is caught, he's defended and kept on.

ColGene, only scum like you is slimy enough to call for the ouster of all republicans because of this.  Go wallow in Barney Franks vomit. As summy as Foley is, you are aren't even as good as his rancid feces.

Yeah, that's pretty sick, chubbs. (Sorry, had to quote Goonies)

Your point about him championing legislation to stop pedophiles whilst being one reminded me of one of Freud's ideas - that we sometimes repress parts of ourselves that we don't like by fighting externally against them, but since they're still a part of us, we act out sometimes. It's just like the case of the porn czar that was found to be a child porn addict himself. It's overcompensating for something they see wrong in their own lives, but rather than making efforts to change themselves, they try to change others and still act out.

The scum is anyone that would defend the leadership of Congress when they turned their heads and did not get to the truth about the Foley matter. As the leaders of Congress they had a responsibility to learn what the truth was about Foley WHEN THEY LEARNED ABOUT THE E-MAILS!

and I'd have to dig down pretty deep to find your neck of the cesspool.

I bet you were one of them defending Barney Frank too!

I did not defend anyone. My point is that the GOP leadership failed to protect the pages and even the oversight committee kept the existence of the E-Mails from the Democrat on that committee. This is just another example of how the GOP leadership ONLY wants to protect their control of Congress.

This is the very same issue as the Bishops ignoring the same problem in the church!

Perv's a perv no matter the party. The hypocrits on the left, who've allowed as bad or worse to pass, are in high dudgeon. At least the Republicans are taking care of it. The crap about "knowing about it for months & only doing something when it hit the press" is hooey. Besides, if the shoe were on the other foot (and it has been before) they'd be howling about rush to judgement, yada yada. I have no respect for folks like Gene who generalize stuff like this to an entire party. Shows him to be the shallow hack that he is.

He's a sicko. When dateline NBC has their little bait show, though, they get dozens of men from all walks of life in a weekend. Given the numbers of politicians, and the fact that they are pretty evenly divided between Republicans and Dems, there's no surprise that you'd find sicko congressmen.

What the Col isn't saying is that the people who sprung this also new about it a long time ago, and held it until now for political effect. Dems could have been all over this, but they opted to make a show of it when it suited them, just like the Col is doing.

I think the guy should get what he legally deserves, as should people like Mollohan, who didn't just wrong a couple of people, but wronged the entire nation, yet they get to skip along their merry way without much of a whisper. It makes me angry to think of sick people harming others, and it makes me angry to think of people stealing everyone's money and hypocrites like the Col overlooking it in favor of petty politics.

What make me SICK are people that make excuses for the failure of those that have been elected as the leaders of our country! It does not seem to matter how they fail our country some will make excuses for them. The handful of men that knew about this and did nothing do not deserve to be in leadership positions!

"The handful of men that knew about this and did nothing do not deserve to be in leadership positions!"

Including the Dems who knew about it and orchestrated this little PR bomb to go off now right before the elections? You're either stupid or a dishonest hypocrite, Col, and I don't believe you are stupid. When you start showing outrage over Dem behavior I'll MAYBE give an ounce of credence to your senseless blathering.

Hey, the Dems have every right to be upset. It's not like they ever allowed one of their own to remain in office after buggering a page or anything.
