It seems as relatives belonging of the Iraqi judge presiding over Saddam Husseins genocide trial has been slain in yet another attempt to have Saddams trial relocated to another country. His defence counsel, 3 of which have been murdered, have been claiming the Iraqi courts are bias and Hussein is not getting a fair trial.

Imagine that!

My feeling is they should have assassinated this bastard long ago. That would be the quickest way to end his trial, and that might just be the most fair of all in the eyes of his victims families.

I'm sure the peaceful Muslims couldn't have anything to do with it. It was probably Bush.

It's too bad Saddam didn't have as much "honor" as his sons. The coward should have died in a rat hole, by a grenade carrying the inscription "From America with Love".

Better he be torn limb from limb by his...loyal subjects.

Saddam was never motivated by religion. Why would his faction's assassinations be considered "Muslim Terror"? It's like saying Hitler was a Catholic terrorist.

Really?

Did Saddam Hussein's inner circle and the Taliban rulers in Afghanistan actively court each other in hopes of forging an anti-American alliance in the region?

In this second of a three-part examination of a newly-released document captured in Iraq, Robison offers further evidence that in 1999 the Taliban welcomed "Islamic relations with Iraq" to mediate among the Taliban, the Northern Alliance and Russia, and that the Taliban reciprocated with an invitation to Iraqi officials to visit Afghanistan.

Maybe? I don't see how it matters. If it did exist it was an anti-American alliance, not a meeting to discuss the key issues in Islam. I can't think of a single Muslim cleric who agreed with Saddam's approach to faith, nor does the assassination of the judges suggest it was a religiously motivated crime. I think it's far more likely Saddam is using secular contacts to get his kills; the Shi'ia never liked him and the Sunni hardly respected his piety. I don't see why they'd get involved for the likes of him.
