Rumshot 1.1 Released

http://www.shellscape.org/rumshot

Rumshot is an application for Windows similar to SnapShooter (Mac OS X) . Rumshot is designed to create a beautifully framed preview in a few seconds, as well as taking screenshots of your desktop. Rumshot supports themes for its previews. While Rumshot ships with only one default theme, you can download the extra Theme Packs, or easily create one.

Rumshot makes it a snap to generate a stylish preview image for posting your screenshot on the web with no need to have or use Photoshop or any other image editing application. Have an FTP account or site somewhere on the internet? Rumshot can even upload your preview and screenshot for you.

Please review the Rumshot Guide if you are new to the application or how to use Rumshot and extra themes.

Rumshot is an application developed by andrew_, one of our web-dev monkeys, in his spare time, so it's not a Stardock supported product.  Be sure to check it out and leave a comment saying how much you loved it!

I'm the other web dev monkey here at stardock, and I've used it to create my screenshot of my desktop.  It's really cool.  Check it out!

Silver back's are the oldest males in a troupe . . . What are you trying to say?

This really is a cool program! I just started using it, and even made my own skin!

Maybe we should consider adding Rumshot skins to the library/gallery?

You're really more of a silver-backed gorilla than a monkey *runs for cover*

ehh... First of all... Andrew is older than me, and I'm cuter

So, we going back to name calling, I guess it's time to announce what your real nickname is around here... dare I say it???       I'll just say it starts with a "B", and let the imaginations run wild.

If we can get enough interest going, maybe!

In the mean time can you send me your theme?

Well, that one was just a test, to see if I could actually make one that worked. But it did, so I'll try making some suitable for public consumption.

I have been using this since version 0.8 and love it. Great work. I think it makes the monthly screenshot thread much easier to view and much more fun. Nice work andrew!

Andrew_

Couple of suggestions for the next version.
1. A way to turn off the notices about the live preview/on/off. Just add a check to disable them
2. A way to zoom out so i can pick a different sized area of the screen.

Its really kewl... I think we need a library for the themes, and some info on how to make them, reallllllly Nice!!

There is a Rumshot guide HERE.
It includes info on skinning.

Nice Andrew, it is good to see how far this app has gone.

How's your website going after the attack on it?

I downloaded and tried this out. Very cool. I create quite a few tech docs and this would help to spice the screen shots up a bit. The two things I would like to see are:

1) The ability to change the size of the screen capture (size of the frame)
2) An area on this site for custom themes!

Thanks!

I've also been using this since 0.7 or something (saw it on Aqua-Soft). Awesome little program for us nuts who like to show off our desktops. A library for Rumshot themes would be very cool.
