LogonStudio help

hey

i downloaded LogonStudio, downloaded a couple of logon skins and was happily looking forward to seeing the result when something terribly wrong happened.
everytime i click apply to one of the .logonxp files on LogonStudio, it'd log me off and then show me a message saying
value creation failed " at line
used to say line 42 but now it just says line
so...what did i do wrong?

thanks

hmmm, which logons give you the error?

If you apply the one of the three logons supplied with LogonStudio do you still encounter the error?

Did you tamper with the UIFile at all?

Another possibility is are you using a non-English version of XP. Logon Studio will not work with all languages.

well im using english version for sure, and yes, all the 3 original also gave me the message...and i dont think im even knowledgable enough to know where the UIFile is to tamper with it...and i dont know what that is btw

If it's happening with the original logons also, I would uninstall and reinstall Logon Studio. I can't think of any thing that would be causing it. And you are using XP right?

yes im using XP...i try uninstalling and reinstalling now and tell you how it goes

no, there's still the problem even after i reinstalled
whenever i click apply, it becomes blank except for my background and a "parser message" appears saying "value creation failed " at line"
and whenever i restart the computer and it reaches the logon stage a "parser message" appears and says "value creation failed " at line 47"

Well you have me stumped. I create a lot of logons and do a lot of coding in the uifile, and the line 47 error doesn't make much sense. You shouldn't be getting any errors with the 3 that come with LS so I have to assume it's something on your end. As long as you are using the English version of XP and are not on a domain, I don't have an answer.
Is there anything unusual with your setup? Or is this just a home personal computer not connected to any network or domain. Maybe someone with similar problems will see this also and have an answer.
Good luck!

its a home personal computer connected to the internet...with a wireless setup...not sure, but i dont think that qualifies for a domain. hmm...this is really depressing.
i got everything skinned on my computer except the bootskin (which im not planning to skin) and the logon skin...
argh...im going to try again.
okay...just to clarify everthings right.
i have my logon screen set to the XP version, with all the buttons and blue screen.
i have my LogonStudio.
i click load and choose my theme/skin.
i click apply.
the theme/skin should appear instead of the blue.
is anything wrong?

one thing i have noticed that does happen is that my account becomes locked everytime i click apply...so instead of switching users, i get the message and then it locks the computer and requires my password, which it would also in the case of switching users, but when its locked, only my account can unlock it with only my password...if that was any help at all...*sob* can't use such a great program
