I thought the PS3 would possibly sink Sony but after seeing the planned prices of the supposedly cheaper HD-DVD players the PS3 does look like a bargain (in the UK anyway)
The PS3 is only like £50 dearer which is a steal for a cutting edge games console and HD player. If the PS3 was going to be a turkey wouldn't the Xbox 360 be selling better ? I'm sure the comment above has a context being that when all of Sonys new products arrive they will reverse the image that Sonys hardware is in decine.

Not often that a corporate leader will state the obvious in such a direct manner. It is good for Sony that they at least are dealing with reality.

It's way better than the average corporate Duckspeak that will deny that there is anything wrong even after a company starts to tank. "Sales in decline" would describe pretty much every market I've seen in the last few years. It's refreshing to see a little bit of honesty, but if he worked for a US corp he'd probably be fired straight away.

I think it'd be hard for any CEO to ignore the reality of the bad press surrounding rootkits and bad Laptop batteries for Dell and Mac.

Bugger it, Jafo, you beat me to it, though somewhat more concise/eloquent. After the rootkit debacle, I'd have used a few expletives and derogatory terms to express my views as to why Sony should be on the elevator to Hell.

Any elevator techs in the house who could rewire the control panel buttons to 'basement only'?

Seems, then, I'll be playing with Sony products in the next life....given my wikid sense of humour, I don't see me going any place else.

Besides, wouldn't know anyone in the other place...reckon 99.9% of my family & friends 'll be down there as well.
