Amazon.com Sells Movies and TV Shows

Yesterday, online retailer Amazon.com opened up it's new online video store; Unbox Video Store, a rival to Apple's iTunes service. The new store from Amazon will allow users to either buy or rent TV shows, movies and other misc video content. At launch, the service is offering thousands of movies from more than 30 movie and TV studios.

DRM restrictions limit a user to loading a purchased/rented movie on two PCs and two portable players. The service is currently limited to Windows users only.

Prices range between $7.99 and $14.99, with rentals of the latest movies for $3.99

According to Tom Merritt of Cnet, you might want to avoid this service. He had problems downloading his movie, watching his movie, and getting rid of the software that you have to download with the movie.

It gets better. According to the EULA if Amazon decides to drop the service (which they reserve the right to do) everything you already paid for will no longer be viewable because of the required player.
