I Think I Thrive on Stress...

-or- I'm one hell of a lazy individual...

Ok, so you all know I'm in college, right? I have two, yes two, 3-5 page papers to do this week before Thursday...I've known since last Thursday and you'd think I would have started on them by now, right? Hell, no. I haven't even so much as looked at the material or picked up a book since Friday afternoon. I don't know why I keep doing this to myself...I always did it in high school and it usually works out quite well for me. I don't recommend procrastination, but I can't complain with results, can I?

I've come up with a theory. I thrive on stress. I'm usually the most laid back person you'd ever meet until I'm really close to a deadlline, then a freak out a bit and can occaisionally be just a tad grumpy. I believe stress allows me to write better....during a rare moment when I do a paper early it's always sub par....when I wait until D-day for it, I don't do a pretty decent job, or at least the grade reflects that. I'm an interesting person, I guess....I'm really going to try to work on at least getting one paper done tomorrow...but that means I have to wake up before noon...seriously, these last 2 days I have not gotten out of bed until 12...actually 2 today....oh well, it was nice to catch up on some of that sweet, sweet sleep that eludes me most other days...stupid 8AM classes on MWF....bleh.

Well, I'm off to do nothing productive until tomorrow. :)

Kinda sounds like me when I was in college. Procrastination and then a mad rush were pretty much the normal routine.

Try to take a proscrastination class if you get around to it.

I think they have a "Learn how to study" seminar/program/whatever thing around here....I'd go, but as long as my grades don't suffer, I'll probably skip it.

Here's a quote I made up:

"Hard work pays off later, procrastination pays off now."

LOL, Sorry babe, but either you've been royally ripped off, or someone came up with that quote before you did!

Good luck with your studies.

I was going to come up with a better one, but I'll get around to it later.

Jajajaja . . . Welcome to college, man. That's the way you'll live until you finish school, at which time you'll enter the professional world and probably keep right on procrastinating . . . it's just the way it is.

I'm the same way when it comes to school. I'm supposed to have a paper written by eleven thirty tomorrow morning. It's nine forty the night beforehand, and I haven't even read the material yet. Oh well. It's a spanish paper - it's already in the bag.

Good luck with the new semester, mate!

Heh, I should probably take Spanish next semester so I don't start getting rusty. I kicked ass on the placement exam, so all I need to do is take one class and I should be good to go.

Very nice. And just think - if you need any help, I'm fluent! (And sexy, for any of you beautiful, nublile ladies that might be reading this funfest . . . imagine me whispering sweet nothings in your ear in Spanish as I caress your body with my loving hands . . . )

I always tried to schedule around those!  Unfortunately, one of my major classes always seemed to be taught only at that time!  Blecch!

Just don't let procrastination be a part of your world when you get out, otherwise you're in trouble! Take it from one who knows!

8am class? I only had 1 of those in college and that was calculus. It was the only time it was offered. I'm sure that was a cruel joke by the administration. Calculus at 8am with a hangover. Wasn't my best class.

Calculus at any time isn't my best class...blah, I hate it. I may just go ahead and take statistics if it's worth the same amount of credit....I'll check it out next semester.
