Hey what can you remember and how far back can you remember? A very good question indeed but still wonder what others can remember and how has it affected you. I decided in 1989 when finishing up my work at the university it will be great to get out and away from the dull and boring life in the states. I rememebr telling a prof that I would love to work over seas in Asia teaching oral conversational English. So this is what I am doing.
I rememebr clearly telling a busy body neighbor this and informed her that I will of course go to China. She seemed very surprised but told her there was no chance in hell getting a job in that small stinking town where i used to live. There was no hope for nothing to be achieved and it was best that i depart and never go back. So this is what I did.
I do rememebr telling my mom when I was a kid that yes, I would like to live and work in China or Japan. I had a great deal of abuse from her on this and she just thought it was a very unthinkable in doing such a thing. She wanted me to drop the subject and do not talk about it at all again. Ok mom. I did have a neighbor who was Chinese and talked to them about her country and found it more interesting. I decided then that some day a big change in my life will come and go there. So now here I am.
