What WindowBlinds features would you like to see?

This is a brainstorming thread.....

I thought it might be good to start a thread for brainstorming ideas on features wanted in WindowBlinds to give the developers some idea of what users want. Whether it is possible to implement is another story, but this is brainstorming after all.

I would love to see a pop-up dialog under "User Overrides" for working with the fonts to allow control over font size (either in actual points, or by adding percent smaller), and for color, bold, and italics.

What would you want?

WindowsFX per-pixel shadow integration with per-pixel skins

Two issues continually bug me:

1. It is always a pain when I see some really nice skin and then discover it doesn't have a vertical Taskbar skin, or simply maps the boring old Windows colors to a vertical taskbar. Could there be some sort of way to rotate a horizontal 90 degrees?

2. I never use the dark skins because there are always places where the fonts are screwed up. Usually when the default font is light to contrast with the dark skin and then some menu or popup uses the font color in the skin but not the background, voila unreadable dialog. Could WB recognized the unskinnable things and allow all elements to be default for those items?

I don't know how feasable(sp?) it would be...just dreaming...but I like transparent windows, sometimes, as an option, like when I find it handy to "rightclick taskbar>Tile Windows Vertically". I use WB 5 "wbconfig>User Overrides>Advanced settings" to set right-click to "make transparent" if the skin offers it as an option, but not all seem to. Usually my taskbar rightclick is set to rollup.
Possible to "skew" windows as in "orthographic" views? As in my drafting classes when we could take elevation views of an object/house, and rotate them about both the X and Y axes to provide a three-sided view. That way I could "stack" them to one side of the desktop and swing one out to view it. I think WindowsFX has something similar, now that both brain cells have found each other... They want me to go to WindowsFX to see, so...

1.) A way to apply wallpaper to explorer windows.
2.)A way to dynamically change skin color which either doesn't effect the buttons or gives you the option not to change button colors without using skins studio.

I would really like to see that changing the skin color affects ONLY the skin you are using and changing the color on, and not All the skins. Skin color changes affecting all the skins is the only thing I have never liked about WB. That sure would be a nice addition! Thanks for asking.

I'm not sure, but I know Bob Dylan sings about it!

I second the ideas about being able to change font size within the windows and being able to recolor only the blind that you are using. And I like the idea of being able to have some sort of "default" button which would take unusable colored window backgrounds and send them to white. I agree with the comments made about how tiring it is to deal with some otherwise very nice skins that make it impossible to read the text.

side note: Citizen seldomseen, I don't know what your post has to do with this subject but I really like your animated picture.

I would really like to get the option to add additional titlebar buttons back (per-pixel skins). I miss having an On Top button. (or at least fix the Tilebar Option for double click, and right click action so they work when you make a change)
I'd also like to be able to replace the System Icon with a custom graphic again. The default System Icon ruins the look of too many skins.
These are my biggest aggravations about WB5.

There is a way to do this. It's free and it works great.

I would like to be able from WB's interface under Change my Wallpaper
to not have all images show up that are NOT wallpapers or too small for the resolution that is set at the time.

# 2
still in WB interface under
Change explorer toolbar icons
and
Change how my animations look
have it not to install the Same one over and over and over and over at which this takes it forever to load (you know how some skins use the same animations and or the same toolbar

# 3

Have WB's not install the same Skin when it is already installed
and when the artist has an update to a skin WB should be able to uninstall the old and then install the new update.
and on some skins they can be named differently but when you go to install it (them) they install with the same name so the one you installed first. then you install the second and it over installed the first one..(in short I like both but have to chose which one i like a bit better)
so I would (if passable)to have an option to be able to rename one, to be able to have both.

Examples of some skins:
Smooth X
Smooth X Vista Style

these are two Different skins But both want to install as Smooth X

thanks
