It's not a virus. It's spyware. Anti-Spyware software is often free, and easy to get hold of. Try using AdAware by lavasoft, that will remove some of the stuff.

Remember: spyware isn't going to hurt your computer.

Get rid of norton, NOW.

That's why you're under attack. Norton is pure, utter garbage. And I meant what I said. If someone is hacking you, stop beind an idiot and posting and disconnect from the damn internet. Norton is going to do bugger all to stop them, but you being offline will.

Your PC can't be "destroyed" by spyware, and quite frankly, it's user issues that allow spyware to get on in the firstplace. Conversely, don't download porn, or hack programs/tools, game cheats, cracks, etc etc, and if you have NO choice, virus scan them thoroughly first.

What is that old tech anecdote? Error exists between computer and chair?

I find that trend micro's online virus scan does a decent job in removing viruses, trojans, spyware, malware and greyware. www.trendmicro.com and use their free online scan.
