Theme and display Weirdness!

Heya Guys,

I've tried everything in the book, and cannot find the answer to this. My Vaio came with a standard install of Windows (which I have restored to a factory state). The default theme comes with jumbo-sized buttons and navi bars. I can manually go into the advanced settings and make everything smaller, but this leads to other display oddities -- almost as though some programs are following the theme guidelines, and some are not.

This is what the default theme looks like regular font-size (large and extra large are even more humongous)!

Does anyone know what may be the issue here? I have checked accessibility options, folder options and all of the related control panels, and cannot find a solution. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Click on the Advanced button. In the Item dropdown, look at the size of your Caption Buttons. Set it at 18.

Couldn't edit my last post for some reason...
The default size for WindowsXP Style is 25. It is 18 for classic style. Check your setting for it.

One time I had a computer that looked weird like that in default and I think it was the DPI setting in advanced settings in the tab where you choose the resolution you want. I may be wrong, but I thought putting it at 96 dpi made things good again.

Yes that machine is running at a non standard dpi which will cause compatibility problems with some apps.
