Many Question about some features and Skills

Hallo,

first of all im not english so if you dont understand something i told, ask me again, i try my best

I have the 1.2 version of that game

1. How does "luck" affect on things and what advantages do i get having 50% luck

2. Is "reputation" important ? I can see my reputation only in timeline, what does it affect.

3. How does it work with influance conquest ? i noticed that there is a chance to take over control of a planet is avaiable after i have xx(4.00) influance on other planet. But what does that 4.00 means and how can i gues my chance to take over a planet every round ?

4. I played that game for very long but still have some problems to understand how the "shilds" and "defenses" work.
Example: I have 1 big ship , wich deals 350 Mass Drive damage and my enemy have 1 ship, wich deals 250 Beam damage and have amazing 280 Beam defense.

I thought, "haha very nice, your shilds will not help you" but then i did only 10-20 damage , while my enemy 1shot me becouse i had no beam defense O_o. Why did his beam defense absorb my mass drive damage? Is it a bug or do the shilds protect also against mass drive and rockets ?

5. Another one question about defenses is following:

i have 1 light fighter dealing for example 8 beam damage and my enemy have 2 beam defense. I do 0-3 damage O_o is it normal ? It makes it hard to "plan" fights against enemys

another one question. I have for example 10 fighters wich deals together 20 beam damage (everyone of them 2 beam damage).

I fight against another 5 fighters protected by 10 beam schilds (everyone have 2 beam defense)

Do that mean 20 damage - 10 damage = 10 damage or do that mean that everyone of my ships will get decrase in dmage by 2, what means i make only 0-1 damage O_o

Hope you can understand

Greetings

1. Luck is, right now, a bit screwed up. However, it does increase your chances of a good anomaly or finding a "lucky ranger" ship, and seems to be worthwhile for that respect.

2. Reputation is what other races think of you as a whole. A poor reputation means they aren't going to trust you, as you're a renowned backstabber.

3. I'm not sure how to guess it, but at 4.00 the chance to take the planet is VERY small. If the planet has low morale, that helps. While I'm not sure of the equation, an example would be 8x influence on a planet with 10% happiness would be a decent chance to take over.

4. Shields help. Basically, the attack works as such: Mass Drivers countered by Armour, missiles by Point defence, beams by sheilds. Everything else is the square root.

So your example would be: You roll an attack of 1-350 mass driver. They take the square root of their shields, and roll that in defence. Odds are they got a high defence score and you had a moderate attack.

Example would be if you had 5 missiles and they had nine beam defence, you would roll 1-5 and they would roll 0-3 (square of nine)

5. Yes, normal. You rarely do the max possible damage to the enemy. Also: in fleets, every ship attacks and defends individually. So you're rolling your 2 attack to their 2 defence, 5 times in a row. You can still get 2 damage from every ship, but it's unlikely.

Hope that helps, and by the way your English is quite good
