You better pay up

Girls Scouts gone wild!

Apparently the Girl Scouts in Akron, Ohio are taking people who took cookies and never paid up to court. Yep, they're sueing for money owed to them.

It's a lot of money too, about $9000! One woman owed as much as $3000! Wow! I guess those cookies are that good!

The woman who owed the $3000 has agreed to pay in installments until she pays it off.

Those little scouts are dead serious, so in the future if you can't pay for it, put the cookies down and slowly back away from the table!

The worst offender was a distributor.  Guess she decided to skip town with the loot!  I heard about this on the morning news.

That's ridiculous! I can't believe people would do something like that though. After all, it was to help the group.

I knew a woman years ago who did that very thing. She was an aggressive cookie salesperson, and she sold to all of us at work and to many others within the community. She was one of those "perpetually hard up" people, and she used the money for her personal expenses. She was taken to court back then, but that was before it was big news.

Yikes. Don't they realise that's never a good thing to do?! I guess not!

Like Gideon, there was a woman who sold cookies where I worked and she, too, used the money for personal things. It's sad that when you read something like that it no longer surprises you.

Good thing you didn't take a chance, Donna. I heard the AP's legal team are made up of former Girl Scouts.
