Toggle desktop icons?

Was waondering... is there anything like a small toggle button to click that will make the desktop icons appear and disappear? i woulda thought there is something like that but dunno where to start looking. cheers, Nafpez

Outside of using the "Right-click desktop > Arrange icons by > deselect Show Desktop Icons", I do not know of any native keyboard shortcuts to display/hide the desktop icons.

There are various third party programs that might have this function built in, or you might be able to write a script that would use a key to toggle the icons.

Sorry, I am not a coder, so do not know what script would be adequate.

ha ha ha pmsl ya know... didnt even know that was there, was using the toggle button on a sysmetrix i was using but wanted to get rid of the sysmetrix cos im using yahoo widgets for the system info, lol ffs bit of a noob mistake there. nvm cheers anyway
