Things I'll miss.....

I still like peanut butter.. (yes I'm wierd)

My ship goes out again soon.. I obviously can't say when because of OpSec (operational security)

I'm mixed about this. For one I LOVE being out on the open waters... LOVE IT. The fresh breeze, the feeling that your floating on a disc of water with no land in sight at all, the gentle rocking of the ship sending you to sleep...

BUT, I hate the loss of communication. Basically once our ship is out, we're out of touch.... well not 100% true, since we still have some email access.. but no Cell phone access unless we're within like 20 miles of shore... I didn't realise how much I am dependant on my cell phone untill my previous (and first) underway. I miss talking to those I love daily or as often as I can (especially my girlfriend, yes I have one now!! (she's super sexy!! red hair(dyed) *drools* hehe ))

I kinda hate having a blog that at least 'some' people might read.. because if they are dedicated readers of my illiterate works (ok why does that make me laugh? oh yeah.. the dedicated reader part ;) ) then I feel like I'll be cheating them.. specially sometime next year when I go on my 6 month cruise....

So I guess blogging is another type of communication I'll miss.. Another thing to add to the list of freedoms I lose to serve my country. Another of the countless blatherings that any member of the military can bitch about because it's true for all of us. (cept the Air Force... *dodges Dharma* (I am kidding ;) hehe ))

Isn't it awful how hooked we get on this stuff. My cell phone needs a new battery and It's driving me crazy not having it and it's only been one day. How ridiculous is that? When my computer bit the dust, I thought I would go crazy not being able to get online. Because I'm home with the kids, it's my little window the big, wide world out there. My few minutes of sanity when things are insane. And you can still type when kids are fussing in the background. It's hard to talk on the phone when every two seconds you have to say, get off that table, no bite, who's stinky.

Geez, what wussies. When I was in we didn't have email or cell phones. Ya had to fnd a USO location and actually dial home (at like a million dollars a minute)

Glad you guys have better com than we did

I don't read you as often, sorry to say. But I'm glad you're able to blog a bit before you go. Good luck on your upcoming tour.
