Question about tech...

I'm quite advanced in tech compared to my enemies in the game, however it seems that none of it is being put to any use, like the invulnerability field and phasers. Even the most advance ship that I can produce (Dreadnought) only has Phaser II and Barriers I think. What's the reason for this?

Because you're not making your own ships to use them. It's common agreement that core design ships suck. you need to make your own ships to use the items.

I see. I was figuring that may of been my problem. I've only just began playing around with the customisation. I've been relying on my lucky rangers to be the workhorse of my fleet up until now. Thanks for the heads up!

Yeah those ships suck big donkey balls, they probably only use half the space of the hull they're built on, and to top off there sucktastic-ness they all have only 1 speed.

Rangers own all. I once destroyed a whole fleet of Drengin with one. ONE ranger. lol


ya you must be playing on an easy mode.

Those rangers are always so weak compaired to my ships that i just destroy them for the small amount of credits. I get multi attack ships with 2x the defence by the time i get a ranger.

If you want to survive harder difficulites (easy and up) you really need to create your own ships.

I give them to minor races I want to support (ie: ones I am trading with).
