Drop menus dissapear in MS Works (conflict with transparancy and tooltips?)

I just recently started using windowblinds, and everything seems to work ok except that when I use MS Works 8, the drop down menus (ie File, Edit, View) dissapear as I move the mouse down them. In other words if I click on File, the menu shows, but then as I move the mouse the menu disapears and the tooltip shows. I have found that it only does this with themes with transparancy.
Works is the only program that does this, and the only program that shows tooltips in the menu.
I don't really care about the transparency and I'm thinking of modifying the themes. (All of the themes that I like have this problem.)

Is there some other setting that I don't know of?
Is this a bug in Window blinds.

You could try turning off Tooltips in Works. Options Menu.

I too have been experiencing this same problem and the only solution I have so far found is to unload WB5. Lantec:

I'm not sure what you are referring to. If I open the Works Task Launcher there is no Options menu. If I open the Works spreadsheet there is a Tools menu item with an Options selection listed at the bottom, but I can't find any selection to turn off tool tips. The Works menues still work - you just can't navigate through them and select with the mouse when WB5 is loaded. You can, however, use the keyboard for menu selection for all items with underlined hotkeys. Options for example can still be selected with the keyboard. Since it is far more reliable and consistent to use the mouse for menu selections and since not all menu items have hotkeys, the only sensible solution I've found is to unload WB5. This is a bug in WB5 that needs to be addressed.

Sorry,
I killed tool tips off long ago and I haven't used works for years. To turn off tool tips (systemwide):

[Start] [Run] [Regedit]
Registry Key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced
Data Type: REG_DWORD [Dword Value] // Value Name: ShowInfoTip
Modify/Create the Value Name [ShowInfoTip] according to the Value Data listed below.
Value Data: [0 - ShowInfoTip Disabled / 1 - ShowInfoTip Enabled]
Exit Registry and Reboot
