Some questions before buying Object Desktop

I'm thinking about purchasing the Object Desktop suite since I really enjoy using Object Dock and I want to change the whole XP gui. However, there are a few questions I wanna ask before going ahead:

Have many of you guys found the programs slow down your computer much? I'm a quick browser of my computer and I hate having to wait, even for those 1-2 seconds. My specs are:

AMD Athlon 64 3200+
1GB Kingston 333Mhz RAM
300GB Maxtor HD
Abit AN8 mobo
ATI Radeon X800 256MB

Do people find the programs a bit too buggy for their liking? There are a couple of buggy things that annoy me slightly with Object Dock.

How long did it take you to have a satisfiable customised desktop?

Can't wait to hear your replies. Thank You.

I have seen no significant slow-downs due to the ODNT apps. Some of teh skins for said apps are graphics or CPU intensive. That' not hte app, it's the skin or docklet or widget/object.

The betas can be buggy and some of the released apps conflict with some user configurations. There have never been so many bugs that I have not renewed.

I am constantly changing this or that . . . I'll never be done customizing.

I've been using ObjectDesktop for the past several years and I personally have never experienced a slow down of any kind. I have seen that others have stated they did, but in my opinion its some app outside of ObjectDesktop that is causing the problem.

If you get an Object Dock subscription you have access to "beta" versions as they become available. Occasionally, a beta will cause a few problems but YOU must choose to use the betas. There is always a "Release" version available as well.

Right after I installed the first Windowblind.

Course I changed it ten minutes later to another, then another, then another.......then I added Iconpackager and had to try every package with every blind.....then on to DesktopX and Objectbar......my eyes started to bleed, then Right-Click....Object Dock and worst of all this Forum.......... (almost got divorced because my wife thought I had one of those "you've got mail" things going)

I'd have to say leave now while you still have the chance.........

I have never had a slow down either, and my computer specs are not as high as yours. I have been a subscriber for years, and I have never regretted it.
