This is a screenshot of Object Desktop for OS/2 from over 10 years ago.

When this screenshot was made, most people were running Windows 3.1. Remember what it looked like? Picture it in your mind. Now look at the screenshot of Object Desktop. Which does your computer look more like today - out of the box: Windows 3.1 or Object Desktop from 1994?

Check out the article below that gives a tour of how Object Desktop has been delivering "the future, today" and other cliches for years now.

Object Desktop 2007 was just released, now you too can join the cliche -- "the future, today!"

Funny…….the new looks of OD7 mimics an OS that has yet to be released……you know…. VISTA

Wow! I didn't know about OD at that time but this is damn impressive. I mean it looks ugly as hell but the functionailty is all there - virtual desktops, object bar, resource meters, customized menus, the whole shabang. I wouldn't say you predicted the future, it's more like the future finally caught up with you. I mean it boggles the mind how long after this it took Microsoft, and Apple, to finally come out with similar technologies, and they're still not all there.

If you live up to this legacy with the stuff you're making for Vista, I expect we'll be working with "Vista 5" while everyone else will be stuck with Vista pre-SP1

This brings back memories. I really miss Control Center (the right side bar). Is it replaced by ObjectBar now?

Go to DX Widgets library and you will found dozens of side bars there

How about a "Classic Skinz Pack"

I am a big fan of the classic simple skins from the old days. I use modified win31, os2, beos, nextStep style skins mostly and would love to see some old school faviorites from the creators.
