Newbie Upgrade Question

When I click on the Shipyards I am presented with my list of spaceships which I can sort, all well and good.

But when I select a ship, and click on upgrade, I am presented with a bare bones ( no modues installed ) version of that ship.

What I would like to see is the full ship with all modules installed, so I can remove certain ones and replace them.

Is this possible?

It was the original way of doing things, and it took too much time when upgrading high end ships. It's changable in the options, IIRC.

There's an option to "strip ships when upgrading" in the options menu. I initially had that off because I found it confusing to have my ships come up with nothing on them, however, I recently enabled that option because it *is* useful in making ship upgrades less effort. Most of the time, a good portion of the components have to be removed anyway.
