Current State of Affairs

Just got done playing the demo. Actually been playing for awhile, couple of hours actually. I couldn't stop, kind of disappointing having the demo timer cut you off when you are hooked.

I decided to download the Demo after getting into Master of Orion III. That game has crappy graphics, but lots of depth. I don't really care for the battle system though.

I just wish that GalCiv2 would include some of the MooIII features. I really like how in MooIII you can purpose your own Senate bills. I would like to see this expanded on greatly. Just overall more depth in everything. Have the United Planets make a bigger part of the game. Now it justs seems like a semi-interactive addon. How about resources that you can trade for specificly. Like Iron Ore, or some metals.

Just stuff to add more depth and stragtagy to the game.

I love the ship builder, but I do think it needs to be retought out to make more stratagy out of it. Right now it's add the most damage and let her go.

I don't know, is there any mods right now that plan to add and enhance the diplomacy part of the game? How about adding more military options. Nuking planets, capturing ships, deploying carries, repair ships, space mines, territory marking, cloaked ships

No upgrades unless at a starport.

I like Galciv2 and it's such a huge improvement over its orignal, but it seems like it needs more depth. I would like to see the expasion pack/patches add more to spying, diplomacy, and certainly the United Planets.

I'd certainly buy it.

Is there anyone working on mods for Realism/Enhancment or just adding some new techs/items. Can mods be stacked? If so what are some links.

Thanks,
Let's hope future patches help make the game even better by listening to the fans.

P.S. Stardock is heading in the right direction with the piracy, and the paid updates. It makes the patches worth gold.

well, v1.2 is better, but i doubt that you can upgrade a demo. Buy the game, it's plenty worth it.

They could, but they won't. Besides, I wasn't talking about the demo. In fact, I pick the game up tomorrow.

wow good for you. I love the game, I almost cried when I couldn't find it at my local Walmart. I had to drive for almost an hour to find a store that had any copies left. You will not be able to tear yourself from it for weeks. After the initial rush it tends to lose its shimmer, but just take a week or so break from it and when you next play it it will seem so new and interesting.

I'm hoping mods will bring some shimmer pack, plus there is always patches and expasions.

The 1.2 Patch is alot more improved than the demo and will definitly bring some shimmer back,
and it includes a mod

I like the ideas, it needs more "rare resources" to trade. Iron ore could be given to alien races for techs and make planets more unique.
