The Royale Vista WindowBlinds visual style is a combination of the long popular "Royale" skin but given some of the slickness of Windows Vista (I'd like to see a glass version myself too).

My 2cents:
I wouldn't be caught dead useing any Vista/Aero skins on my system.
They are utterly boring and lacks creativity - there are far too many Vista/Aero skins out there, which all looks more or less the same.

I say, bring on some skins that actually change the way Windows looks - not change it into what it will look like in the future.
Some day must of us will be using Vista anyway..... then what?

It's not a bad skin, but I like Ecliz and Ecliz Deluxe better. I do agree that there are too many Vista look a likes, though.

I'm the vista style fanboy of the night so, my opinion:

This skin especially, but the vista stlye clone wars included: occupy a niche of skins that are easy on the eyes, sexy, fast loading, and still good for a production machine.

Yes, its fun and personality and creative to make windows look like something its not. But that causes a lot of problems in itself. For a time i used really stylish skins, and nobody else could figure out how to use my computer ;( It slowed down my interface. It caused errors with my programs. I couldn't read certain things. It was unstable. It was just simply unusable. Until Vista style, i only ever used Luster consistantly.

Royale vista is an amazing skin. I mean its just perfect. Its fast. It doesnt run in to redraw problems. It works from adobe apps to macromedia to shell and Office ( 99% of good clean slim skins i've tried don't work in Indesign. This does!! ).

There is a reason why this skin is so popular. It's a good skin. It is a style that is comforatble with a lot of people who want to make windows look different, while still being functional.

I don't think that's such a bad thing, snow.

And i think that's a reason why vista is such a cloned style.

It's a great skin, useable and clean. Why does a skin on this place have to make apps like Avid or Premiere/Photoshop unusable to be classed as good?

That and this looks NOTHING like Vista.

Although I do love to see how creative people can be with windowblinds, myself, I tend to steer towards the cleaner, thinner designs just because of ease of use. I know there are folks out there that love the wild stuff and I applaud the creative designers who come up with the themes, but there is also an audience looking for something different, but still similar and functional.

I used windowblinds for so long when I see the "normal" XP interface it looks so strange.

I think some of the WoW themes look great, but the problem is the borders are often large to accommodate the graphics and the fonts are unusual and not necessarily easy to read, plus the colors may leave you with menus that are hard to read or e-mails that are colored backgrounds and text which isn't easy to read. While it's great if you're just using the computer for a little while, if you've constantly got a bunch of apps up or are using it as a work pc, it's not as easy to use.

I've been using the Terrestrial skin for awhile and believe it offers a good blend of a difference design, lots of colors, but still leaves the basic program interfaces ledgible and effective.

Kudo's to all the generous designers for their creativity and generosity, please understand that there is also an audience for the "simple" stuff too

I really think that this is a very well done skin!!!!!
The only change that i would like to see is the round start button like the one from the arrow skin. Then if you add the extra links from the WMP 11 skin, (like the bottom view of the my computer window or any of the explorer shell windows) then you would have the closest thing possible to Vista with out Vista. Of course you still need Window FX and Icon Packager. Then you have the FULL effects of Vista!!!!!

As for the rest of you whiny babies.....If you don't like it, don't use it.......Simple logic

No they/you were all saying, what you don't like and not even complimenting the artist on his efforts!!!

Also I didn't know that I was in a contest to win friends. I Also do not put words in other peoples mouth like

I do care if it matters, I just expressed my opinion about how everybody was complaining about and the Vista look and not taking the time to express their compliments or kudos to the artist.....which was the reason for the article to begin with!!! I apologize that you took it so personally.

Its a well made skin but lacks style,might as well be windows.(it is a quality skin but anybody thats had the misfortune of using one of mine knows I have style over usability issues)

But when I want do dazzle someone with my mad GUI interface . . I reach for Fathom or the Not of this Earth or some crazy stuff like that. {It doesn't stay there long . . . but I like it!}
