All aboard are bored..

Yes life aboard a ship is boring... well at least when you have no money to go out on the town, or to even buy a coke....

Let's not forget duty... ugh... Duty is boring.. necessary but boring...

Luckly right now I have this building where we can get free internet access, watch free movies, and play pool for free also.

Though it's really nothing too majorly groundbreaking. Nice place though, and I do really appreciate it. Mainly because I currently have 2 dollars to my name until next Friday.. so free entertainment is definately a big hit with me right now... Nothing much else to say right now.. since well.. boring also means nothing happening....

This coming week is all GQ drills though... so lots of stories to tell next weekend I'm sure....

Wish I had a beer or 20...

Hey, I used to make a lot of extra cash on the ship. Between poker games (I'm a superior poker player), loans at $10 for $20, and selling candy I had "care packaged" to me, I made a killing. You have to be creative.

Well those would be good ideas for when the ship is out of port... but when it's inport everyone is always out of town doing something else.. and never aboard ship except for duty times. And I don't even havethe 10 dollars to do that loan idea... LoL

Did that all the time back home.. lived on a small farm and have spread things a lot worse than mulch... I'd do it if I could..LoL

That's what poker games are for
But yeah, you'r right, when in port the opportunities dry up. Plan ahead.

What kind of ship are you on anyway? I was on The Forrestal.

Wow,that's quite a historic Carrier to have been on... Were you on it during the time of their nasty accident?

I'm currently on DDG57 Mitscher, a Destroyer based out of Norfolk. Not even near half the size of your old ship but mine seems sturdy enough.

GQ drills

What'sa "GQ Drill"? "You will put on and remove this Armani suit 20 times in the next 30 seconds -- blinfolded. Go!" ?

Were you on it during the time of their nasty accident?

Yeah, that's what I was about to ask.

That's hilarious, Gene. They have to give the zoolander blue steel look while Right Said Fred "I'm too sexy" is playing in the background.

No, that was before my time.

Kinda lucky really... Lot of good men died in that accident.

Well.. it's not that vogue... GQ stands for General Quarters; aka Battle Stations. It's your placement and job for any nasty situation the ship might encounter. It's a way of placing all the crew in locations to operate and run damage control for all the ship. We obviously drill this a lot because it's very important in any case of an actual emergency.
