need help with the Start bar

Hello guys!

i'm pretty new at windowblinds but i've already downloaded a few cool skins :D

my biiiiig issue is that my Start bar doesn't change for what i was expecting :\ it doesn't turn to what i see in the skin preview image. and that´s making me sad because you guys have done wonderful things that i would really like to use.

PLEASE help me with this one!

right click your bar - properties - start menu - make sure you're using 'start' not 'classic start'

Glad to hear it ! The issue could also have been that the skin in the preview was a subskin of the original skin. Like for some vista skins, you have the 3 different vista beta styles. One with the black and green start bar. One with the semi transparent start bar and windows, and another with the black start bar and blue windows orb as a start button. Most start off with the black and green start bar, with solid windows, but the preview before you download may be of the glass orb one . Leading you to believe the skin was incorrect... when infact it was simply a previewed subskin .

I have a problem with many of my skins. When I choose Compact Menu, it's always the full menu. Am I missing a setting somewhere? No, I am not using the "Classic" menu.

MsPooma... compact Menus are set by the Skinner/Author. There aren't any settings to turn them on or off. I can't think of any reason they would not be working. How are you choosing Compact menu?
