Screenshots

Whats programs do you guys use to take screenshots, i use Gadwin's Printscreen its freeware, but it doesnt seem to capture all the layers, i cant for the life of me get my objectdock to show up in a screenshot, also having problems taking pictures of movies playing in bs player, they just show up as blank screens....

Was wondering if anyone had the link to a free screenshot program that when you take a screenshot, what you see is what you get, not most of what you see is what you get...

On my keyboard I have a "PrintScreen" key.
I push that.
Then I open Paint.net and paste.
Done!

Capture 2.0 docklet by DockZone worked well for me in the past too: https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?Library=29&skinid=3253

The above method works for me too. A 3rd party program that is free is Faststone Capture at http://www.faststone.org/ . I also have their Faststone Image Viewer. Both are really loaded with features and very easy to use.

I have never understood why people need a screenshot "program" This is what I do......

hit the "Print Screen" button on my keyboard, Open Photoshop, press "Control N", then "OK", then "Control V". That's it! No 3rd party software required.

Just save as a .jpg and upload to Wincustomize.

I have a Microsoft 'comfort series' wireless keyboard/mouse set ...for some reason the ability to use the printscreen on this kb is disabled. Nothing I do will make it work. I've made sure I have the correct software, and configured till I turned blue with anger ...but no joy.

So I was using the 'Faststone' program mentioned above for screen captures ..it's unobtrusive anyway.  ....but!

Then I realised you could assign pretty much anything to any key combo, with Stardock's 'Keyboard Launchpad' [Part of 'ObjectDesktop' suite of apps] ...I set that up, and was good to go.

If I switch back to a standard [non-wireless] kb ..I can use the printscreen key on that.

Odd...
