Progress Bar problems, and YES! I know about the color pallete!

I am kind of new to skinning. I have followed the skin tutorials to a tee, and I am still getting color shifts when I use a progress bar. I am using Photoshop CS2, making all the neccesary changes....ie indexed color, 4 bit bitmap, same color pallete from background image yada yada yada..... It still doesn't work! WTF! What am I doing wrong here? Any ideas?

It won't be....

to test....for the progress image simply copy the background and resize it to suit...and see what happens...

Thanks for the quick response! Good test idea!

I figured it out. I had my process messed up; I wasn't actually loading the pallette into the progress bar file......I was loading the color swatches in from the color table file. I didn't think this would matter since I was using the some of the same colors from the background file, but apparently the actual color pallete must be identical whether you use all or just some of the colors.

Yep....that's why they say "the palette MUST be identical"....
