First Tropical Storm Of The Season

Tropical Depression 1 has now strengthened to Tropical Storm Alberto, the first named storm of the season. And we are now being visited by Alberto. What we got yesterday was just the far-flung bands from it.

As far a Tropical Storms go, this one's not very impressive, but we're starting to get the winds and rain from it. We really do the need the rain, but I would prefer a nice steady rain instead of this sort of tropical downpour with all the wind.

It's looking like we may be in for another busy storm season.

my son is in New Orleans. This storm wannabe was front page news there. He's kinda spooked. He's getting ready to transfer at the end of the month to KY but if this turns into anything and heads his way, he's all packed and ready to go.

Hope they're not gonna be as violent as last year!

We have tornado warnings out this morning, there have been a few spin off from this storm. The most recent is a few miles South of me. Great way to start the morning.

I'm just a little East of Tampa. They just came across and upgraded it from a Tropical Storm warning to a Hurricane warning. We're now expecting 70mph winds possible.

I'm getting packed up ready to leave back out on the road. I will be picking up in Charleston, SC tomorrow. Unfortunately, that's pretty much the track of the storm so I'll be in it all the way it seems. Some days just go like that.

While it's only a 7 hour ride to Charleston, I expect weather conditions are going to make it a good deal longer.

Bush's fault.

It must be. Why else would they name it after Bush's AG?
