On Wednesday June 7th, 2006 3:00am EST we will be taking most webservers off line wile we upgrade our primary database system. The outage is planned to last a minimum of 3 hours and it is possible that it could last longer.

By moving the database to a new server and new software we hope to have a significant gain in performance on our websites that interact with the database (which is most sites). Where we hope to see the largest gain in performance will be with the initial page loads, logons and all forum based systems.

My wife noticed me trembling severely at the prospect of WC downtime - knows I need my daily skin fix - so has given exceedingly rare permission for me to play on the Playboy site until WC comes back on line.

With that being the case, I mightn't need the Prozac, but I'd better slip out and get another bottle of Valium....maybe even a blood pressure kit, so as to check that I'm not over-doing it.

Okay, so I sorta lied about the permission to visit Playboy - more like to go out and mow the lawn - but a bloke's entitled to dream and have something to look forward to while the best site on the www is inaccesible....

The missus has just spoken: "You'll get yer skin fix if you scratch yourself on the rose bushes....now git out there and mow the damned yard!!!!"

Bugger the pruning shears...sick of scratches and dug the bloody thing up...gave it to a neighbour

Didn't get around to the mowing...took ages to dig out the rose bush, then it was too dark, WC was back on line and no hope of it happening.

SOD IT!!! Just occurred to me, now I'll have to BUY her roses on special occasions ....when I'm feeling guilty about something
