Suggestion for possible expansions/hull packages/etc

Concluding from the poll(s) we can see alot of us will buy expansion packs and/or packs with extra jewelry or whatever they might come up with. Stardock has stated before these will not be availeble in retail outlets. So we'll have to purchase them online. I've looked up before at buying things online from stardock. And no other payment option seemed availeble besides credit cards.

Now alot of us don't have credit cards. So there should be imo other ways of payment. Something that is rather easy to do like wire transfer or direct debit(also in EU pls ). Just my suggestion, and if I'm wrong about that credit cards are the only way of payment with stardock please correct me

The hull pack won't come out, they needed at least a 3/4 majority to make it a viable option. Wire transfer is, AFAIK, not generally used here in the UK either, because it's unreliable. I don't think they will allow any other ways to do it.

it is my understanding that "direct debit" of checking accounts requires a significant up-front payment in order to license the software. it's the most "secure", which is why it's the most expensive. that's why only the major online retailers, or companies generating lots of revenue, have that option.

credit card transactions generally charge a nominal fee (either straight like 2 cents, or a percentage of the total) per transaction; cheaper, but less secure.

my credit card (MBNA) has an online option where it will generate a one-time "fake" credit card number for use in online transactions. this seems to cut down on fraudulent claims as well as anxiiety for the customer. i dont know if other companies do this--if they don't they should.

wire transfers are a pain in the ass. i wouldn't inflict that "option" on any company as a "means" of diversifying A/R.

You could always use PayPal. I used it to buy the game itself. It was the first time I ever used it, and I had no problems at all with it. If there's going to be an expansion pack, I'll be using PayPal again to buy it online.

Interesting, I use PayPal with my E-Mail provider and some other online services and while it is a bit expensive (especially Euro to US-Dollar exchange) I had no problems so far and using it with Stardock would be fine.

Were you able to pay by PayPal money transfer (where you just enter a target E-Mail address) or did you have to use PayPal debit-card, which unfortunately is US only.
