I cannot log off or restart my computer!

Ocurred after editing Logon.

I was editing a logon doc as usual but received an error message for line 14! Now, when I go to log off, I get nothing. I tried a system restore but in order to shut down, I have to press the power button which does not allow the restore to complete. How do I shut off my computer now?

PLEASE HELP!

Bring up the Windows Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Delete) and select Shutdown.

hmmm.... maybe.....

try going into the logon studio folder and opening the .ini as text
if your .ini shows a 'lastselected' change it to one of the ones that work

for me = i have it set for randomize, so i can change "lastselected=ALXAlienwareBlack" to something else

Easiest thing to do would be to change the logon...delete the one thats messed up and re-download it again if you want..

In the future, make a copy of the file your working on, that way, if something like that happens you can just replace the file with the good one...

I very recently went through the same thing , and it had nothing to do with log-on. I even have a thread around here Link

I had a Win32.Backdoor virus and it just kept spreading and affecting more and more stuff as I tried to remove it and fix it, I ended up having to do a full system recovery. You can check the thread for tips on what to do, hopefully, you're not in the same boat as I was. Good Luck.
