Standardizing WinCustomize Forums

Standardizing WinCustomize Forums

Beta testing forums.wincustomize.com

We are working standardizing WinCustomize's forums.  What I mean by that is that with all the Stardock websites we are working on one code base that will run all our forums.  Several of our sites (forums.galciv2.com, forums.stardock.com, forums.societygame.com, etc) already use the same forum code.  But current WinCustomize has it's own custom flavor.  So we are getting close to completing this transormation over at https://forums.wincustomize.com/ . If you feel like beta testing it for us then please start having a look around and let us know of any bugs or missing features or inconsistencies it has compared to the current forums.

Please do not turn this into a wish list, that will come later.  After we get the current forums converted over we are going to look into revamping the forums to have a more similar look to all the generic forums out on the web.

does anyone actually ever use the 'Channels' section in the 'Forum Menu' in the left hand column? 'cos it look ugly and takes up space..i really can't see any point in it, i have never even vaguely been tempted to use it to naviagte around...

It doesn't like Safari much, but it does have editing controls.

I like it! Seems to work much faster too!

RE: Opera incompatibilities/junk - As stated before, the editor is being worked on. It's a long, bumpy and frustrating road dealing with Opera's js engine.

Search is down in the old forum but working great on the new one.

Still wondering about the "spamming text" underlined in green. Is that to be part of the "New" forum for members?

CerebroJD - *points up* we know about the editor and have been working on it (previously mentioned) The editor thats used on the other forums (and the forums.wincustomize.com forum) is a stripped down version of the one you'll find on wincustomize. We have a brand spakin new one coming your way, but it wont be up for testing until next week.

The link to sub-catagories on the left panel are borked. So are the Subscriber resources.

It's fast though!
