Problems with settings

I am running WindowBlinds 5.0 and am frustrated trying to reset the desktop color. Once I choose the color I want the application runs normal untill I shut down or reboot. On restart I have to go back and reset the color again! This didn't happen with the 4.5 version. I have also lost the icons in the system tray on all skins except XP Style or if I turn off the taskbar skinning. What is going on? Am I just missing a setting??

i believe the color is tied to the overall skin theme colors

If you are setting the colour in Windows settings, when reboot/start computer then colour set in skin being used will be applied. You need to change the colour in each skin using SkinStudio. If you do not have SKS download free version from sofware tab.
Open skin in SKS, in Explorer tab, Miscellaneous, colors, on right Section tab, Miscellaneous, Background-Desktop, set to colour you want, save changes.

Thank you very much. This is exactly what I was looking for. I guess I must read the tutorial on skinning soon. I would like to design my own some day.
